I am Dr. Annet Hoek, an independent Food, Health and Consumer Science consultant & contractor with over 15 years international experience in sensory & consumer research, project management, innovation projects, and nutrition & health policy

I have had the pleasure to work with big and small food companies, academia, health and aged care industry, governmental and not-for-profit organisations. My qualifications in Industrial Design (Diploma), Nutrition (MMedSci), Biology (MSc) and Sensory & Consumer Research (PhD) are a good reflection of my interests and capabilities. Recent additions include the School for Health and Care Radicals and a Design Thinking course. This guarantees a unique multi-disciplinary approach to each of my projects; connecting insights from science, real-world practice and consumers.

Over the years I have tapped into the minds of THOUSANDS of consumers regarding food and health. My fascination for what shapes our food choices and experiences, and health behaviour in general, has only grown. I am a member of the Australian Market and Social Research Society (AMSRS) and the Dutch Working Group Eating Habits.

Besides publications in peer-reviewed journals, I am recognized as a research collaborator with grant funding success (> 1 Million AUD) and the Award for the best paper in the Food Marketing track of the Australian and New Zealand Marketing Academy conference 2014.
